Nadi Astrology (Nadi Jyothidam) is a form of Dharma astrology which is practiced throughout Tamil Nadu, Kerala and nearby regions in India. In essence, Nadi astrology is based on the idea that Nadi palms are placed in accordance with the thumb's impressions (right for males and left for females). There are 150 Nadi's within the signs; each sign has 30 degrees in the zodiac, which is 360. Twelve zodiac signs are divided into three groups that include: Movable (Chara) fixed (Sthira) and dual (Dvisvabhava) significations. The meaning that is 150 Nadis is unique to each of the three kinds of signs. It has 1 800 Nadis that are 360 degrees. The names and numbers of Nadis are the same across the 4 Chara signs. Within the the four Sthira signs, the numbers and the names Nadis are similar, however the numbering system is different from that of Chara as well as Dvisvabhava signs.
